Research interests
Dr Janice Atkins is a Senior Research Fellow in the AGE (Ageing & long-term conditions, Genetics & Epidemiology) group in the Department of Clinical & Biomedical Sciences at the University of Exeter. Janice’s research focuses on the analysis of environmental and genetic risk factors of ageing and age-related diseases. Janice has a particular research interest in genetic haemochromatosis, which can cause iron overload and currently holds an NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) Advanced Fellowship on “Enabling timely diagnosis of hereditary haemochromatosis”.
