A highlight of the day, and always very popular at patient conferences, will be the panel session.

Guided by an experienced facilitator, the audience will be invited to ask questions of our five panelists. This is a truly unique opportunity, as most patients never get to ask such eminent experts questions about their medical condition.

We have set aside 90 minutes for this important session, so we should be able to get through quite a few questions, but in our experience this time will fly by!

Once you have booked your place, alongside your confirmation you will receive an invitation to pre-submit your question. However please note that there is no guarantee it will be asked as at this stage we do not know how many questions we might receive. In addition, questions from the audience on the day will have to take priority.

On the day

There are a few simple guidelines about how the session runs.

  1. Please do not ask questions that are purely about your specific medical circumstances and treatment. Our panel can only answer in general terms, not give individual medical advice. Individual medical advice should be sought from your own healthcare professional who knows your case history.
  2. To ask a question, raise your hand and wait for the microphone to be brought to you by our runner. Please do not start your question until the audience can all hear you. Remember that there will be people in the audience who are hard of hearing.
  3. Hold the microphone close to your chin and speak clearly, this will ensure the panel and audience can all hear you properly.
  4. Unless the facilitator comes back to you, please ask only one question; this is so we can be fair to everyone that wants to ask a question.
  5. After asking your question, hand the microphone back to the runner straight away; this enables us to quickly prepare for the next question.
